Grieving - The Path to Healing

I like the idea that the grieving process is a path to healing the mind, body and spirit (heart) of those involved.  The path for some is very straight forward in that they experience the 5 stages of grief in the order most sites or people talk about them. For others, the path we take is not so straight forward, skipping from one direction to another and back again. The good news is that what ever the path you take in this process, how long it takes and the time spent in each stage, it is all normal.  All three aspects of a person may take different lengths of time to heal.

I have found a number of definitions of Grief and this one from the Canadian Pediatric Society says it pretty well.
Grief refers to the process of experiencing psychological, behavioural, social and physical reactions to loss. It is a continuing process involving many changes over time.
In my cases the process I went through was different in both losses. I still experienced the same stages just different durations amounts of time.
